Emergency Closing Policy

For Weekday Masses:

If Anne Arundel County closes schools, we will cancel that weekday’s 6:30 am & 8:30 am Masses at  the church.  It is our belief is that if it is unsafe for our children to go to schoo, it is equally unsafe for adults to get to church. Many have a passion for honoring God and beginning their day worshiping at weekday Mass. At the same time God is not honored by broken arms or legs or car accidents.

If Anne Arundel County Schools have a delayed opening, but not cancelled, we will have ONE Mass at 10:00 am, which may also be a funeral Mass.

For Weekend Masses:

If we are threatened with a snow blizzard or ice storm on the weekend AND the Archbishop goes on TV to ask us to use discretion about attending Mass on that particular weekend, he is concerned that some folks who should not attempt to worship and are vulnerable to hurting themselves might imprudently go out in deep snow or unsafe ice and actually hurt themselves. Only when these two factors come together will we cancel weekend Masses.

Please note: Weather related announcements may be obtained on TV Channel 2, Radio WBAL, ctkgb.org and at 410-766-5070 ext. 8.

Religious Education Program Winter Weather Policy:

Our winter weather policy for Religious Education classes is as follows: if Anne Arundel County issues a “Winter Weather Warning,” we will not have classes. (A “Winter Weather Warning” indicates winter weather is imminent and likely to occur. It differs from a “Winter Weather Watch” which indicates only that winter weather is possible.) :  In the event of inclement weather, parents/guardians are asked to check our website (ctkgb.org) for information regarding possible cancellations. Parents can also sign up for email and text update using Flocknote.  A decision to cancel classes will be determined by 7  am for our morning classes and 5 pm for our evening classes.  Our priority is the safety of you and your children.
