High School Youth Ministry
The goals of our High School Youth Ministry are to:
- Help young people develop a relationship with Jesus Christ;
- Empower young people to live as disciples of Jesus Christ in our world today;
- Draw young people to responsible participation in the life, mission, and work of the faith community; and
- Foster the personal and spiritual growth of each young person.
Our High School Youth Ministry offers opportunities throughout the year for youth in Grades 9-12 for socials, catechesis, teen discussions, outreach activities, and have fun in a safe and spiritually enriched environment. All high school youth are welcome, whether attending a Catholic or non-Catholic school.
Generally, the High School Youth Group meets Wednesdays at 7 PM. Please check this website and the bulletin for updates on dates and times. Locations and venues (in person or virtually) may change throughout the year due to COVID-19 restrictions and limitations. Additional activities such as outings and service opportunities may be added as COVID-19 restrictions allow.
Any questions about the High School Youth Group or upcoming events can be emailed to Michele Dougherty, Coordinator for Youth Ministry at email@example.com.

All teens ages 14-17 volunteering to work with children, are required to receive age appropriate child and youth protection training utilizing the Archdiocese training video, Worthy of the Call. Since many of our Confirmation candidates and other teens will be performing service in the next few weeks and summer, this training is being offered to those who need it. This video is useful to all those who serve, whether volunteering with children or not.
May 26 – NO GATHERING
Enjoy the night off with your family!
At Christ the King Parish, we are committed to providing a safe environment for all our participants, youth and adults. Due to COVID-19 safety precautions and notices, all minor youth are required by the Archdiocese of Baltimore to have the following documents signed by their legal parent or guardian before participating in Parish events:
Assumption of Risk Form
Parent/Guardian Acknowledgement Form
Acceptable Use Policy for the Internet and Technology Tools
Youth cannot attend gatherings without these forms signed by a legal parent or guardian. For more information about these forms and to download copies, CLICK HERE. NOTE: These forms only need to be filled out once for the year.
There is no fee to join the High School Youth Group or participate in the weekly Wednesday night gatherings. Some additional activities may require a cost to participate (for example, work camp). In such instances, costs will be communicated to parents as soon as known. Other general overhead costs such as supplies and hospitality are provided on a donated basis or covered by the parish as the budget allows.
If you would like to make a general donation (any amount) to financially support the High School Youth Group, you can either:
- Send a check made payable to “Christ the King” and mail it to Christ the King, ATTN: Michele Dougherty, Youth Ministry, 126 Dorsey Road, Glen Burnie, MD 21060; or
- Donate online as a One Time Gift using Faith Direct (http://ctkgb.org/contributions/). Please be sure to designate the gift as for High School Youth Ministry in the “Notes” box to indicate the donation is for Youth Ministry.

All parents wishing to help out with our High School Youth Group, including chaperoning events or helping drive teens to an event, must comply with the Archdiocese policies for Child Protection (https://www.archbalt.org/child-and-youth-protection/).
