Volunteer Cantors Needed at Holy Trinity
We are in dire need of volunteer cantors at Holy Trinity for all weekend Masses. If you would like to lead the congregation in song, regardless of whether you read music, please contact Kathi Hiett on (410) 768-1854. We will hold cantor training once a month in the church to review the songs and the mass parts.
The King’s Men
The King’s Men will now be meeting in the Parish Center on Dorsey Road on the 2nd and 4th Mondays starting at 7:30 p.m. with prayer and then a DVD. This month, May, is the month of Mary and the DVD is entitled “Full of Grace”. It is the story of Mary, the mother of Jesus. The editor of the Magnificat wrote ” a breathtaking film and celebration of faith. I have not been moved by a film like this since The Passion of the Christ.” All men, young or old, are invited to join us. Come see this film and meet some of the men with whom you attend Mass. All are welcome. Contact Orville: 410 761-3715.
Saint Vincent de Paul Ministry
Debra and her husband Alex were scheduled for eviction on May 10. They are both disabled. Debra’s SSI benefits were discontinued after her marriage in March last year (due to her husband’s Social Security benefits) and the couple has been struggling ever since. A major expense was their car, which was just repossessed. Now that the car is gone, their monthly income will be enough to meet expenses. Alex had a liver transplant on April 25 and our team visited with them just ten days later, on May 5. We were able to make a payment to their landlord on May 7, which satisfied the court judgement against them and eviction was avoided. We also delivered food from our pantry.
We were able to help Debra and Alex because our ministry is faithfully supported by parishioners of Christ the King Church. Thank you! Members of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul are men and women who strive to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person service to individuals in need.
